I didn't say Norwegian spec ops knew nothing of any other kind of fighting, but their concentration is cold weather/mountain fighting. That's what you are claiming they are superior to us at. If we could concentrate on just that, you wouldn't be able to make that statement.

And btw, I never claimed the quote "quantity is a quality" as original. I'm fully aware Stalin coined it.

The German's problem was a 2 front war. They could have struck a deal with Russia. Just split Europe with them...and THAT might have very well led to ww3 later on. In either case, what is for sure is that western Europe survived under the US nuclear umbrella. If not for that, possibly ww3 when Russia invaded. And if I remember correctly, everybody's economy was bad at that time. Isn't that one of the things Hitler was blaming on the Jews? And it's a know fact Churchill wanted us in the war.

The 2ww was "as good as lost" for the germans even before the US enterd. The Sovjet just had a to massive army to be stoped. It was just a matter of who "libirated" who. Btw it was Stalin who said; Quantity is a quality by it self. When did Us prevent WW3?? The bay of pigs? And if i remember right the Us economy were not that good before ww2 so the begging were not that much needed. The employmet "suddenly" were 100% and spitting out 1 transport ship every 2 weeks :)

I know that one..lol..I have a Garand
gibbsrg (October 9, 2008 at 5:25 am)
Plus, we had the only general issue semi-auto rifle of any army during ww2..the garand. We were superior to everyone in that regard. But if it makes you feel any better, John Garand (the designer) was a Canadian!!

Nobody was laughing when it ended, least of all Germany. German forces were superior in almost every way at the begining of the war to ours, quantity and quality wise. But our far superior industrial capacity doomed them from the start. 50000 sherman tanks overwhelmed far superior tigers and panthers. Liberty cargo ships were built faster than u-boats could sink them. Planes and tanks were made as if rolling off a copying machines. Germany was doomed the day we joined the war. Continued...

That's not enough? Take away the f-18s and what will the air force have left? And oh, aren't the missiles on your ships American? Your transport planes, who made those? What weapons system has Canada designed? |
