Its now 8-19-2008 A year after the Tornados hit Nappanee. Houses are still being fixed. Taco bell is up and running now along with Dairy Queen which has moved to where the old bowling alley used to be. The old dairy queen building is still there and a new gas station has been built in the spot of the old one and soon the day spa car wash will be opening... The town still does not look the same and it never will. Alot of trees are gone but I just wish the government have helped but its okay.

another sad event in this town last week a major employer in this town announced it's closing bad news for an ailing town

Update... Taco Bell is back up and running. Diary queen is in the process of building a well as the gas station next to the car wash and taco bell. I just wanted to thank everyone personally to those that came out to help with the clean up. It just shows how something can happen to bring people from far away as Arkasas and all over the country to come in and help with the clean up. I just wanted to say thank you from all of us here in Nappane.. God Bless you all and your familys ..

i live in jimtown, not even 20 min away. to know that thats how close i was to a tornado gives me chills. if that storm had ben blown 15 miles north, we would be talking bout how jimtown got destroyed, not northwood. God bless napannee indiana.

Man this was a bad tornado I was dispatched by my ARES group in DeKalb county to assist and it was scary

Kathy,Thank you so much. Im glad that someone has been touched by these pictures. Thank you so much for what you could do. Ive been getting on here. I will be on the radio on a telephone confrence on a local radio station in Huston Tx on Monday to talk more about the Tornado .
