Finally managed to get the Robotis stuff working on my laptop. Basic problem -- laptop too new; runs Vista and no COM1.The tricks turned out to be setting the new USB-serial converter to COM1 and 57600 baud and reboot. A couple of Bioloid tools recognised that right at their startup. But the Behaviour Control Program needed to be set to run in XP compatibility mode to have the USB (COM1) appear in its connection list.
