yeah, I get that part... I'm saying I've never seen such a huge border around any other mac. If they made the same border on the macbook that they usually do, it would be called a fourteen inch, and that would fuck up the marketability, so they purposefully made the screen smaller. hold your macbook up to a fifteen inch someday, and you'll see it's not much smaller. It's a scam.

13-inch viewable. They always tell the size of the area you can see. Just like my 20" iMac isn't 20 inches, its more like 24. You could compare it to rulers. A 30 cm ruler isn't 30 cm, its 31 or so, but they have marks up to 30.

so why does the old twelve inch powerbook have a skinny-ass border around it. No, I don't think they did it just for the hell, I think they did it because they couldn't fit everything they wanted into an ACTUAL 13 inch, and they didn't want to call it a 14 inch because it's not small enough to differentiate it from the 15 inch. So their solution? Make the screen smaller. The 12 inch mac book had a skinny border around it. So your argument kind of falls apart.

Don't be a plonker. If they were to get rid of the 1" border then they would have to get rid of 1" all round the macbook, meaning it would have to be thicker, hotter, and more expensive.You think they do it just for the hell of it or something? All other 13" laptops are the same.The 15" MBP does not have this issue because its much bigger, plus more expensive so more money goes into developing it.Just be thankful it doesn't have a big ass chin like other laptops as it slides back and down.

just wanted to let ecveryone know. The whole 13.5 inch screen is BULLSHIT. Ever notice the really huge border around your macbook screen? Well that's so they can call it 13.5, but really it's only a tiny bit smaller than the 15 inch! They purposefully made your screen smaller so they could call it 13.5, but really it's like a 14 or 14.5! It's totally a scam and I love apple but it's shit like this that totally makes me angry. I have a fourteen inch computer with a 13 inch screen.
