>> leave out the Apocrypha and other adding thingsThe seven Deutrocanonical books were part of the earliest Bibles, it was the Protestants who removed them.Do you want to support your argument that there were non-Catholic Christians? And, if they were there, what were they doing when we were putting the Bible together?Show me a document, please. Prove that there were non-Catholic Christians before the Protestant reformation.

That's not true, Paul would have preached against the Catholics, please stop deterring people from the truth. God is just and will judge you accordingly, and you don't want the wrath of God upon you for leading others astray. Read your Bible daily, and leave out the Apocrypha and other adding things, stick to the Word of God.

>> Why does it not say anything about catholics or protestants in the Bible? Because when the Councils of the Catholic Church at Rome, Hippo and Carthage put the Bible together from documents written by Catholics, the Protestants hadn't yet rebelled. All Christians at that stage WERE Catholic.

Why does it not say anything about catholics or protestants in the Bible?

I love this video. I once had a friend call all Catholic's Protestant. I had to laugh. I'm not good at all with confrontation, so I totally tripped. It's something I'm working on. Slowly I was able to make my point to her but I doubt she bought it.

>> When hv i said about evangelizing other faiths or acceptance?About an hour ago you said there was a difference between understanding and acceptance. I'm not interested in debating you - I want to know WHAT you mean by acceptance. Do you mean that we should accept Protestantism as being equally valid as Catholicism? Or that we should accept that Protestants believe different things and that is okay? So far, you haven't made that clear.

It appears u are more keen on winning an argument than having a healthy dialogue. When hv i said about evangelizing other faiths or acceptance? Read all my comments carefully. However,if yr prupose is to prove others wrong, & u are right, then its really futile to continue this conversation. I'm not in this for pride or debate.

>> I hear your pt, but i see it differentlySee WHAT differently - that we must evangelize other faiths? Are you saying we can consider other religions as acceptable and still be faithful Christians?
veritinox (August 1, 2008 at 5:30 pm)
I can only say this, if one starts frm a defnesive mode, one might achieve less. Has all the Catholic bashing frm Prostestants manage to convert catholics or only build more resentment? A good salesperson sell his products, an excellent one, makes them want to buy.I hear your pt, but i see it differently, but nonetheless, peace be with you. :)

>> I believe this is called religious tolerence & is actually in my opinion an extension of our faithIf by "tolerance" you mean that it is good to accept other people's non-Catholic religions and consider that we don't need to evangelize to them, then you are flatly wrong. Other faiths do not have all the truth, and we must tell them this. We do not have to do so in a manner which is mean, but we must say this and make it clear. |
