And just for more details: The actual front spolier that was standard on the BOSS 351 was not installed at the factory...they were sent with the car 'knocked down', meaning in a box for the selling dealer to install. The build sheet does not show 'knock-down' items in the body of the build info, but at the bottom in the notes section as an addendum. The fact that you claim yours says anything at all in the build section info substantiates my previous point.

Your lack of comprehension is astounding: For marketing reasons, Ford referred to the 71-72 eurathane bumper as a 'bumper/spoiler', and on build sheets it said 'front spolier', only to differentiate it from the standard chrome bumper to line workers. I have all the Ford order material for 71-73 Mustangs. What is the RPO# for a front spolier? How much did it cost? Contact Bob Perkins or Bob Aliberto for further verification(I know both personally), if you even have clue who those guys are.

Clearly... your incorrect as always, any bumpers that are color keyed on a 71-72 mustang are URETHANE coated bumpers ... where might I ask is your point? Ergo, Ford was not referring to a urethane bumper when they so clearly stated "FRONT SPOILER." Perhaps they were referring to the, umm, front spoiler? Some worker...

If you are so technically superior on 71-73 Mustangs, why don't you everyone what is unique about the console and the grill on my car, and the significance of those items? Both of the items are clearly obvious in the video.Amatuer...

Don't know how you became an MCA judge, because the front spoiler was never an option on any factory-built Mustang from 71-73 except the BOSS351. I ordered this new car new. I used to work for Ford, so that is where I get my information, and years of collecting Fords. If your 72 build sheet lists 'front spoiler', it refers to the eurathene bumper, so clearly that car had the decor option. Get your facts straight before you insult others with your worthless ditribes. MCA? Hah!

Don't fret because here is "nice" comment, your lack of taste is only matched by your incompetence; front spoilers were OPTIONAL on any sports-roof. I judge mustangs for MCA. I don't know where you get your information, front spoilers were almost always equipped to MACH 1 or sports-roof mustangs. I know, I actually own a 72 M-code and I have the build sheet from FORD, it lists under options, -front spoiler. enjoy!

and last but not least:Now, there is a front spoiler which is not correct. It was standard on the BOSS 351 model and unavailable (even as an option) on any other Mustang model for those years. You will rarely see ANY 71-73 Mustang without one today. They were available on Mach 1s becuase the bumper on these models was marketed as a 'spoiler/bumper'. I think it looks good so it is there. Anyway, thanks for looking at the car and I appreciate all the nice comments!Kit S.

And another difference:You may also have noticed that there is no external radio antenna. I removed it and filled in the hole in the fender. I absolutely hate the look of antennas, and if you look at any Ford brochure you will notice that they ALWAYS airbrush out the radio antennas...so apparently Ford doesn't think they look good either! At any rate, I didn't like it, so I removed it.

Another item that is not technically 'correct': The horses in the wheel centers are supposed to be chrome/silver, but I changed these to red.For judged car shows I install correct silver ones on correct 7" rims with correct F-60-15 Goodyear polyglass GT tires. On the car in the video are 8" wide(but otherwise totally stock)and the tires are 255/60 radials. It rides better with the modern tires on it, and the bigger tires and wheels give it a more approprite,'muscular' appearance.

The only major things on this car that are not stock in appearance are the '429 Ram-Air' sticker on the trunk-lid, and the emblems attached to trap-door. Nowhere from the rear-view of the vehicle can it be identified as a '429' car, so I think it serves the purpose. I think it looks 'right' there, so I stuck it on. The emblems on the trap-door are not stock. But I like it. I understand your attitude that it 'shouldnt' be there, but...I have gotten a lot of positive comments about it. |
