This is a strange situation to gauge because of the elements surrounding it all. First it's terrible to say he "got what he deserved" That's a terrible thing to say about another human being with intentions as good as Timothy Treadwells. He truly loved what he did and his sole purpose was to help the bears and the perceptions about these creatures. With that being said however he was "misguided" to say in the least and he did provoke his own demise by acting too cavalier with these wild animals.

it is a horrible thing to say that he deserved it. no matter how crazy he was to live with grizzly bears, no one deserves to be mauled alive. he loved what he did, and he knew what he was doing. otherwise he wouldn't have lived for 13 summers. the bear that killed him was unfamiliar with him because he decided to stay an extra week which was a mistake. all the bears he was familiar with were hybernating already.
