Well I'm not a broker, but I work in one :P. 92% of people who gamble break even or lose their 'investments'. 4/5 years on average have been good inclining years even if you have a half decent financial adviser. I know a few (not personally) poker pros who've lost a big chunk of cash and lost years of wealth like the unnibomer. I know, the same goes for high risk financial investments. However, even if you consider yourself pro and really good and play full time 40 hours u can still get beat.

Thumbs downing you for hypocrisy. It sounds like you're a stock broker. The stock market is a gamble. Investments are based on expected value are they not? It's prospective, what's expected, not what's guaranteed. It's still gambling. Even starting a business is risky. Difference? Daniel doesn't invest his entire life savings in poker. Be sure Daniel wouldn't sit if he couldn't afford to. He learned that lesson coming up in the game.
