How come they don't show Glen playing the guitar solo? Squeeze is a great and underrated band. This is only one of their many great songs. I wish they would play this song slower in concert. They rush through it to get it over with. I am so glad Glen and Chris are back together as Squeeze and on tour this summer. Now all they need is Jools, Gil and Keith to reunite their classic lineup.

The drummer killed himself in 1996.

This song is so English. I love it.

good post. i agree - it's weird to see squeeze all tarted up (two tonnes of orange clinique per member)...in some horrid station pub converted into a winebar (these days in england they've all closed down since the smoking ban - along with all the decent london pubs)...let's not forget their first two albums - stunningly tuneful vignettes of southern english working class life.

I loved the '80's. We were young, in love and hai mousse ruled the earth.

Jeeez thanks for posting. I was beginning to accept that I was wrong & that the 80's really where a far cooler time than I remember them....and then I watched this! What a fantastic taste of 80's kitsch. Glen & the boys look caught out of time in the Thatcherite winebar vibe!

I don't get why everyone is insulting this video; I really don't. What, as opposed to the pinnacle of directing force that was '80s music videos?Shyte, man... we're just lucky they weren't made to do dance routines, given the time period. |
