what a pointless comment. i'm not comparing them, and i don't think anyone else is either. both men generate strong feelings from thier fanbases, that's all. i think it's good that it's been pointed out there was a fair deal of mutual appretiation going on with them (especially in the early '70's) as both men had a habit of slagging off everything that they didn't like at any particular time - although i think they did fall out over 'sometime in nyc'...

think so... saw it in london and birmingham. his guitar on 'city of tiny lights' in birmingham was so loud and clean i thought somebody had stuck one of his amps next to my head!

Ah, so this was from the tour where they recorded "The best band you never heard in your life" right?

It is both comic and tragic the way Frank lights up a cigarette just before the line about "choking smokers."

Mneh. Not Zappa's greatest. Lotta of better songs in his collection.

i would prefer if you didn't trust me.

no...you're right. but you've got to admire his balls for even attempting it. i seem to remember, he also covered 'stairway to heaven' on the same tour - with the horn section doing the final guitar solo!what a laugh!
