I absolutely love this! Know what I'd also like to see on YouTube? Rostropovich conducting Shostakovich's Fifth.

If you haven't already read it, and if you can find it, I highly recommend her autobiography, "Galina". It's a fascinating, inspiritional account of what it meant to be a creative, artistic soul in a decidedly conformist society, and what it still means to be an artist in a world not necessarily artist-friendly. Don't miss it!

Galina Pavlovna Vishnevskaya, who is a Russian soprano opera singer and Rostropovich's wife, offered tea to the couple, Seiji Ozawa and his wife.

There is an interesting story behind this music. A friend of Shostakovich made a wager with him that he could not do an arrangement of "Tea for Two" within 60 minutes. Shostakovich won the bet. However, I don't know why he entitled it "Tahiti Trot". Thank you for posting it. I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you for valuable information. I am surprised Shostakovich gave Op.16 to "Tahiti Trot". |
