Hmmm the YZF had pilot race tyres on it. Not sure what the other bikes had, but tyres make a HUGE difference...

I rekon valentino rossi would have beaten the lap times, would have been hilarious if they had him riding the bikes as we all know he could beat it. This video goes to prove that with more and more powerful bikes, we actually cant get much more time out of them unless it has fast straights. Also not to mention what tyres the other bikes had on them. I ride an old ducati 900ss and on the road i can keep with most things in the twisties and that is where the fun is. The rider makes the difference.

This test is flawed. You need practise laps to get used to the bike, then ideally get some real lap times out and from there work out the standard deviations. Then you get a real measure of the real capabilities. Plus the tester could be biased against a make (i.e. not push hard), so a real test would involved disguising the fairing and chassis too.. |
