one thing i could add from my saile plane flyind days as opposed to para gliding is that thermal currents can be quite dangerously unpredictable. In a faster moving glider you are safe but in a paraglider you could find the chute collapses and you could be caught in the rigging and totally fucked. great video though! and worth a few beers!

i was quite impressed with this guys nerves. i crashed a glider and i was totally crapping myself if not actually anally doing it! The beeping sound is a vario which says if you are in rising air or sinking air. high pitch was saying he was in rising air so good but it was really going off when he was spiralling so hard to say now what was goign on. amazing that he fell out of the tree in chaos at 50' and landed saying 'well i am on the ground now!!!' the guy deserves a few drinks even if...

Can any paragliding professional (and not any of these fuckin morons who have commented on what he should of done) please tell me what went wrong in this particular situation ? Was it thermal ? Prevailing winds?
