I just built one of these and while it didn't double my signal, it did increase it from about 45-50% to 55-60%. Not too shabby, especially for 10 minutes of my time!

didn't work for me, I get two bars more but when someone stands between the router and my pc it gets only one bar, and without the windsurfer I get two bars but it never change.
