He is unclear about what he discusses and thus does not give an argument about anything. He is just confused. Why soldiers fight, what are the causes of war and when is the use of military force justified are three different questions. He subtly changes the subject matter as if he wanted to manipulate.

Howard Zinn amazes me. I've only come across his work and life story recently and recommend the "You Can't Be Neutral On a Moving Train" doc to anyone who hasn't already watched it. The man truly has lived an inspiring life.

war is the consequence of human nature. maybe violence isnt in human nature, but greed is. war is the product of a societies collective greed. we want more resources than those other guys so we will try to maneuver to get it. when the other guys see us maneuvering to get the resources they will try to stop us from getting it so they can have it. there can be no net positive, only a balance. transfer of resources/wealth from one group to another and back again.

Skipscobie- what the hell kind of reponse to polak2909 was that!? I mean this person was probably only trying to conduct comparative research between different ideas because they felt like it or thy had to. You didn't consider their motives for doing so, but rather shut them down before going into a useless rant concerning politcal discussion.
