i trained the kombatan system to lakan ranking. it is more organized than many martial arts systems. the problem is that the actual training does not bridge to reality and relies on predetermined attack patterns in order to appear to work. notice the way the gm queues the attacker on where to hit him. you can watch other videos that will show the same thing. many people that practice this can fight, but it is not due to the system.

any martial art always has difficulties to it. its not hard but it certainly aint easy. i for one always came home with bruises and cuts when i started kali, but think of the bright side, most people dont know how to fight a person with a stick in the streets so that gives you a big advantage in a fight, and the chicks can see your bruises and scars.

lopoex, I understand what your are saying. But remember this is a demo. All is done so the audience can appreciate the martial arts. It is not a real fight. Syempre, iba sa laban. di mo talaga alam ang dadating sa'yo. Patay ka kapag akala mo na ang natutunan mo ay epektibo kung di mo naman nasubukan(English:For sure, it is differend in a real fight. You'll be dead if you think what you learn is effective if you don't test it.)

for the benifit of the person who posted the video and those wo don't speak or understand filipino my reply to lopoex states:yes my friend, Master Presas' art is effective in practical combat. it would be better if you would actually meet him to understand more the essence of the Kombatan style. His gym is located at Globe Building Quiapo Philippines.

oo pards effective ang art ni master presas sa mga practical na labanan mas maganda kung hanapin mo siya para mas maunawaan mo yung kagandahan ng kombatan, ang gym niya matatagpuan sa globe building quiapo.
