guys stop giving people thumbs down for saying its out of tune, lol.. it is a fact, but i can see where his voice used to brilliant and still is at times within this piece.

I think that Leonard Hokanson is a tragically underrated pianist. While being utterly fantastic at accompanying, I don't think that he should have to. His music is beautiful.

I think that Prey´s entire career has been glorious (not just the 70´s or 80´s), he not only had a wonderfull voice but a complete self-control over his instrument. I agree with "mahayana76" when said that he captured Schubert sensitivity. I love his interpretation of Schubert instead of Fisher Dieskau´s cold singing, for example.

This is not Prey at his best. What montestone said three months ago was interesting about his being flat sometimes throughout the 70's and 80's. His work on the Angel recording of Ariadne Auf Naxos (as Harlequin?) was devastatingly beautiful. Other recordings from the 70's and 80's show what a glorious voice he had and what a master he was.

I must say that I really don't like his tone. It seems to be covered up or something. It almost seems nasal. This is probably the reason he is out of tune. Of course, I can't pretend to be any better, I'm only a freshman voice major.
