And I'll just mention that the Ibby comes with a 064 for F# - that was a bit to thin for me, which is why I opted for the 072, but I guess the 064 should go through the machine head easier ;)And I forgot to mention that I get the strings from the local music shop - chap there's able to order them in for me individually in packs of 6 or so (but I can buy them one at a time ...).Hope that helps :)Cheers,C

You can get individual strings from D'Addario ... I use a regular 009-042 set and add a 052 and 072 for B and F# respectively. With the RG2228, though, the 072 doesn't easily fit through the machine head :( I had to put it through as far as it would go, then chop off the ball end to the right length - thankfully its a double locking system, though, so this was possible :) With the grover tuners on the Blackmachine, it just goes through.

Hey man your awesome!One question:I'm buying a 8 string ibanez in about a month.What do I do about strings? I havn't seen any sets for an 8. Do I just use a bass string for the low f#?

At the time £2050 and it took almost a year to get it made and shipped. (But count on it costing more and taking longer now ...)Cheers,C

Thnx :)Counting all of my old ones I think its somewhere around 18 at the moment ... but its about 12 that I actually play, and 5 of those on a regular basis - the others are mostly backups for gigs.Cheers,C
