the fact that it was such a toss up with what song they were going to cover at the time of their Single's release, I doubt they just haphazardly compiled the song, without their heart and soul. there were literally a hundred songs they were choosing from.

You music elitists need to get off your high horses. Because some people don't like the music YOU like it makes them wrong? What a bunch of hooey. The music scene is getting worse and worse with these self-proclaimed connoisseurs jamming all these "deep and moving" pieces down our throats without considering that some of us may, I dunno, like different kinds or versions of music. Get over it.

Firstly,ND never brought this back to life...youtube did and there are thousands of people out there who have known and listened to this, and yes i do think its a sorry attempt, but to write that they are a creative and ambitious,(lmao on the floor),and then say they are a cover band is contradictory dont you think?,anyway no respect is accorded to copycat bands.I respect originality and genuis which this band has in abundance,go and blow off somewhere else.

This song was originally released in January 1984 but failed to make the UK top 40 as did their follow up 'Such A Shame'. After a couple of top 20 hits in 1982, they had another top 20 hit in January 1986 with 'Life's What You Make It'. Howver, it took until May 1990 when this song was re-issued for this to become the biggest hit of their career eventually peaking at no. 13. This was largely due to the promotion of their greatest hits 'Natrual History' album which was also released in 1990.

I hate discussing which version is better - to me, talk talk is original and it's a classic. but I don't know why you call ND's attempt (and it's their not her) a sorry one ? they hardly changed it... ofc that people would hear for it, but nd just brought it back to life. It's not that they made a dance song out of it...people shouldn't ditch no doubt because of the cover, but only respect them even more, because they are simply a creative and ambitious band.they've always done covers...respect.
