The American companies were lying TOO! That's why they changed, so they'd be ACCURATE! I can see you're also one of those ignorant, uninformed people that thinks SUVs are safer than cars. Let me ask you something, will a Corolla or an Explorer roll over when rounding a corner? Besides, that argument doesn't even make sense since Toyotas cars are just as big as any American cars. The Avalon is the same size as the 300. The Camry's the same size as a Malibu. The Corolla's the same size as a Focus!

A lie is a lie is a lie. I'm not in love with Toyota. They suck and they always will. They're little cars kill more Americans every year just because they're little cars. They lied about their mileage, they've lied about their quality, and if you want to continute to beleive their lies, go to Japan and enjoy their lies. Toyota is loosing ground in their own country and Americans keep buying their lies.

That's because the EPA lowered ALL the fuel economy atings for 2008 to make them more accurate. Check the American car's ratings for 2007 and 2008, its the same way. I'm so tired of you ignorant people that keep talking about how gas mileage has "gone down". The EPA did it ON PURPOSE. Get for facts straight before making those kind of statements.P.S. Japanese cars are more reliable anyway, it's been proven, Amercian cars are simply don't measure up. So go buy a Toyota if want a good car.

I hope Toyota decreases everything because it doesn't belong in the US. I didn't loose my job, but there are a lot of people in my state of Michigan that have because of Toyota. In 2007 Toyota advertised the prius got 60 mpg and in 2008 they advertise it gets 44 mpg. In 2007 they advertised the corolla got 44 mpg and in 2008 they advertise 34. They lied through their teeth. Why isn't anyone calling them on it. They should be run out of the country.
