It's a De Dion set up. Essentially each wheel has it's own swing arm which is the full width of the vehicle, connecting to the chassis on the opposite side. There is only a tie bar between the hubs to keep the wheels aligned. That way all the diff's etc' are contained within the chassis, and out of harms way. Even the drive shafts are contained within the swinging arms.

Im trying to figure out the axle/suspension set up under these things. is it like the the ford ttb (twin traction beam. which is a pile in my opinion).
