Too bad lithium ion are so dangerous: LiFePO4 cells have higher discharge current, very fast charge times (5 minutes), high power density and do not explode under extreme conditions, but have lower voltage and energy density than normal Li-ion cells. I like sla's cause they're so damn cheap. =) Can't wait for the better batteries to become competitive in price. No more bulky batts. woot!

Agreed.

Yep, it sure does. Its much better suited on a motorcycle. I can actually safely go high speeds.

heh, I have to say the batteries were the only part of this bike I didn't like. I replaced these with 8 12v 18ah lead acid batteries, and I'm getting rid of them as soon as i have the money for 48v 40ah lithium iron phosphate batteries. I already have 48v 20 ah of these, but with 60ah I should have atround 30 mile range, maybe more.

frame-500, controller and motor-1000, 8 12v 18ah leads acids-400, lithium iron phosphate battery 800. That is for Ebike version 2.4 I suppose i'll call it.

Hey, you use the same batteries as us. We did 69km/h at at only 36v. With Speedo Proof! Nice video.

True, also e-bicycles, at least the high powered ones, should be full suspension so the rider does not go flying after hitting a small rock in the road. Always wear a helmet.

if you're stingy (like me) you can build these for next to nothing. I plan on it myself once I have the room.

Does this have the ebike motor?
