give me a break you guys....Whitney is the clear winner here even though that clip of hers was not that flattering.....mariah would be second or third because it's a toss up with her and celine....but vocally whitney is the queen

I feel you are a pure professional judging from your respectful but insightful comments and replies, I adored your approach and your list too, it's just so hard to make such a compilation without having people complain and having their own way. I know I comment too much, but I just don't do it much, it's my "little" outburst over sth I absolutely loved. I would also consider Anastacia and Lara Fabian, they certainly deserve it. And Barbra is great, listen to her "since I fell for you"

I like clarity and stable power, so Celine is by far the best (voicewise), she's just a machine without a tone of feeling to her songs, but what she gets out she does great!I believe Anita Baker ought to be there too (e.i. in Jill Scott's place) and, I know she's not "of our time", but I just looooooooooove Eva Cassidy, sad story, but she's got the pipes all right!

Agree about Celine, she's presented unjustly modest in this list, and she's the one that can easily match Aretha's and Whitney's power! (tho' she abuses lip-synching in her shows((( As 4 Beyonce, she's a great singer in her own style and genre, it's a matter of taste, but I don't think she deserves what has been written about her above. Christina IS a dirty chick I absolutely cannot stand, but boy can she sing!!! Hate it or love it (I hate it, tho').
