She's also one of the few, if not the only soprano who really acts the role -- she conveys the fear and darkness of the music. What a wonderful artist; and a nice lady too.

Renata Scotto est extraordinaire dans cet air sur le plan vocal et sur le plan dramatique. Brava Renata! Je préfère toutefois Freni (pour le chant) mais elle arrive juste derrière.

It doesn't get much better and more intensly moving than this! Ms Scotto's frasing, diction, legato and sence of style is unsurpassed. Then add the drama, the acting, the stunning pianissimi and the attention to detail and you have the perfect performance, or as near as is possible to get. Bravissima.

this is really some of Scotto's finest singing. So, clean... and the phrasing is as good as it gets... dramatic, but still with a true legato.. BRAVA
