we don't get snow often in the portland area so we are not used to driving in it.. that's why schools get closed after it only snows an inch!! nobody is there to clear the streets either.

Holy Cow ! That was unbelievable !These people are not morons or stupid as some have suggested. Driving on ice and snow requires experience. Here are a few tips:1) Buy Snow Tires for winter driving.2) Slow Down when it's slippery.3) If the vehicle starts to slide and you've got the brakes on, it will just keep goingin the direction of the slide no matter which way the wheels are turned. Take off the brake and steer ! THe vehicle will follow.4) PRACTICE !!!!
