I think Robbie was totally hot. I would certainly do him. I miss the days when men had hair and beards in that style. I bet he looks great today as well. WOOF! And the song is so well composed. Love the use of all the augmented chords. Extremely well done.

Yeah I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade and this song was catchy as hell. This one and Nicole by Point Blank. I listen to punk, rap/hip hop, metal, new stuff, old stuff, blues, funk, country, and songs like this just can't be touched.

Not the greatest stage presence of all time by an act, but DO give the man kudos! He had the BALLS to finance the song all by himself and it sure did pay off! This track was a guilty pleasure for me in 3rd grade but to this very day it IS a pop track I still do respect to this very day! Good job, Rob!

timing is the same too. I think WAFB was released in '78 on a Doobie Bros LP. Wikipedia says this song was released in 1980.But yeah, this sounds closer to WAFB than "My Sweet Lord" does to "He's So Fine".Which is why it sounds so good. Both SA and WAFB sound good. I wonder what this would sound like, if Michael McDonald was to cover it?

Speakin of Mike McD.. This song totally steals the synth line (and chords?)of 'What a Fool Believes'.. Listen to them both and see what I mean!.. Good tune all the same tho.. I think it was Jimmy Buffett who said that all good musicians are plagerists..

I was also in junior high when this came out. Life was pretty good back then. Great tune!

Ahhh, the good old days, when you didn't have to be good looking to be a successful musician. ;) Great memories. |
