You dont need a heat sink unless your building a gaming PC.

I remember in HS that I took computer repair and I loved it. I learn all of the parts of the motherboard less then 30 mins very easy to know.

typicaly non full ATX motherboards have onboard Vid, like micro ATX, NLX, etc. Its a market segment thing.and actually not just "older"....but downright old MB's, didn't have onboard anything, want a printer? you would need a paralel card. want a mouse, you would need a Serial card, no onboard IDE, Nic, sound, vid, PS2, nothin

well said dreamthinker lol, i know im 15 years old but i dnt take offence. i know a floppy drive aint a core component or needed in some cases but if you need to test your memory or upgrade your motherboard/graphics bios you need a floppy drive.

newer motherboards do have onboard graphics, i built an intel system up for my dad a few days ago, he wasnt into gameing or anything but hes got onboard graphics

Then what is your monitor going to get video from? Older motherboards have onboard yes, but the new ones (775, AM2 etc) do not support onboard graphics hence graphics card being an essential.

you would be surprized what Intigrated Graphics can do, onboard ATI X200 is all my HTPC needs.btw a floppy holds 1.44megs after a Fat12/16format.if you want everyone to GTFO, wouldn't it be easier if you just left instead?

yes, you can get an OS to the system with out a CD rom. im not saying you don't need one, im just saying its not a core component.as for the floppy drive. start thinking about stuff. have you ever needed to install SATA,SCSI,RAID drivers for an OS? have you ever needed to run any low level utilities like Debug, or a HD utility. they cost like $1, and are well worth it for the times you need itI am a proffesional Tech, and you sound like a 15 yr old know it all punk

Yeah because you can actually get the OS into a computer without a CD/DVD drive eh? As I said to the above, GTFO.And no, PCs have no use for a Floppy drive..they hold 4mb of memory, an OS won't even fit on them anymore to boot up, useless in every way. |
