Unlike many "copy cat"drifters, this group is a pleasure. The lead singer,Johnny Moore, sang backup and was lead singer for the Original Drifters for many years.Johnny was a very talented vocalist and a fine gentleman.Unfortunately,he wasn't a great businesman, and died broke, but his great talent can never be deminished.RIP Johnny!Bill Pinckney, the bass lead vocalist of the Original Drifters died of a similar fate last year after a cash feud, and the "Drifters"name I heard is a legal entanglement

I met Johnny Moore and the Drifters at the Cabaret Bar in Manchester in the early 1990's and they were so kind. They signed autographs and spoke to us for a while outside the venue after the show........LEGENDS!!!!!

I'm amazed by Moorer's voice. He has a tremendous voice. To me he has one of the best voices I've ever heard. |
